Directors Reel | MICHAEL GRECCO
And… action.
Directing was a natural transition for me. Years of commercial photography – especially portrait photography, where the subject isn’t always highly trained in how to pose for a photograph – taught me how to relate to talent and get the best possible performance. It also helped me build up long-standing relationships with world-class editors, motion graphics professionals and crew members that I love working with.
Tim Montgomery, en fuego.
I created a Cinemagraph with a portrait of Tim Montgomery for the cover of Wired Magazine. We initially wanted to shoot the tree and the portrait separately and then make a composite. That became prohibitively expensive because of the dangers of shooting fire in the studio. So we found the best CGI fire artists and we made it in post.
